ReCARE® SNA

The most advanced solution for neuromuscular stimulation

ReCARE® is the most innovative technology for neuromuscular activation, capable of detecting neuromuscular disorders in real time and performing early rehabilitation of patients with reduced mobility or immobilized in hospital beds, especially in intensive care units.

Advanced 6-in-1 neuromuscular support for early rehabilitation of critically ill patients.

With precision, comfort, and safety, ReCARE® delivers efficient results in functional, muscular, and motor treatment.

  • Gain of strength and muscle mass
  • Greater functionality after hospital discharge
  • Improvement of motor function in old age
  • Recovery of muscle strength post-COVID-19
  • Prevention of deep vein thrombosis
  • Relief of post-intensive exercise and postoperative muscle pain
  • Improvement of tissue microcirculation
  • Prevention of pressure wounds
  • Improvement in quality of life

Exclusive features

To allow effective therapeutic doses for all cases and needs, ReCARE® operates with stimuli at much higher powers than those practiced by clinical electrotherapy equipment available in the market. Therefore, to ensure patient safety, current density is rigorously controlled and distributed across the area of the electrodes connected to the equipment, allowing uniform stimulation restricted to parameters supported by the body.
Thanks to the 12 independent channels, the equipment can apply therapy to multiple muscles simultaneously, according to the specificities of each one.
To define the right dose for each patient, ReCARE® has the resource of stimulation electrodiagnosis, which independently and non-invasively tests the neuromuscular condition for each channel, recording the information in the system for parameterization of doses.
ReCARE® has a biofeedback system, dispensing with continuous monitoring by the healthcare professional after the first therapy session. Through continuous reading of the patient's muscle bioimpedance, through the stimulation electrode itself, the equipment can monitor muscle fatigue, automatically regulating the doses applied during a therapy session.
Through an internet connection, all patient usage data and parameters are recorded in the cloud. This feature makes it possible for those responsible to have control, as well as allowing remote system adjustments. Different reports are available in real-time to the clinical and administrative body of the hospital.

Exclusive Accessories for Diagnosis and Therapy

  • RePEN: Motor point detection pen that allows the location of the most appropriate areas for delivery of stimuli. This makes it possible to perform the stimulation electrodiagnosis test to diagnose polyneuropathies and disorders in muscle excitability.
  • ReBELT: Electrodes in hypoallergenic and autoclavable silicone belt. Accessory with an extensive service life.
  • Gel applicator: Allows precise application of conductive gel to the electrode.

Frequently asked questions

The treatment must be performed by a healthcare professional, with an appropriate protocol and dose for each type of treatment. However, a medical prescription is not required.
There is no difference in the software or power and parameterization requirements between the versions. The main differences lie in the physical structure of the equipment.

The portable equipment is ideal for day-to-day mobility, such as between clinics, offices, or home care settings. It is a lightweight device that comes with a carrying case.

The transportable equipment is equipped with a trolley, which is used for mobility within larger hospitals or clinics. It features an articulated arm for connecting the 13 channels (12 muscle groups + pen) and a basket for transportation, eliminating the need for a support bench for use.
For therapy, ReCARE has a stimulus amplitude ranging from 0 mA to 240 mA, pulse width from 10 us to 10,000 us, and frequency from 1 Hz to 100 Hz.

For Electrostimulation Diagnosis Test, we have measurements of chronaxies up to 65,000 us and reobase and accommodation up to 200 mA.
The device has a series of algorithms that protect the patient's skin during application. Among them, there is automatic calculation of current density as a result of the electrode's size used, the Thrue Bifasic system that reverses the + and - poles with each stimulus, and current balancing.
The use of high doses in neuroblocked patients is not recommended due to the drug's peripheral and central action. In low doses of neuromuscular blockers, it is possible to use them, but with lower quality contractions.

As a standard, we recommend using SNA after 24 hours of neuromuscular blockade interruption.
ReCARE was designed for use in this patient profile. Therefore, the device has high power and current control algorithms to avoid accidents and burns. There are already indications in the literature of the technique's use in these patient profiles with excellent outcomes, such as reduced critical illness polyneuropathy development rates, restored neuromuscular health in patients with established peripheral polyneuropathies, reduced mechanical ventilation time, decreased ICU length of stay, and increased muscle strength recovery speed.
There is no absolute contraindication for patients with skin discontinuity injuries, but it is not recommended to apply the electrode under these areas, and they should be positioned at a safe distance from the wound site.
Yes, there are indications for neurological conditions.
Self-adhesive, carbon-silicone, and ReBELTs electrodes that come with the equipment can be used.
ReCARE has a checklist that helps professionals evaluate the patient's clinical conditions to prescribe the most appropriate treatment modality for the moment, such as restoring strength, improving/increasing peripheral circulation, preventing pressure injury, and restoring neuromuscular excitability.
Yes. ReCARE generates a series of reports at the end of each therapy or stimulus electromyography test. These reports can be accessed locally for each registered patient or with restricted access through login and password by the service administrator on the online VISION platform.
Yes, the portable equipment was developed to allow transportation over short and long distances, in different ground or air modes.
The equipment and accessories should be sanitized with topical germicides (70% alcohol and quaternary ammonium). ReBELTs, in addition to the topical germicide, must be sterilized in an autoclave when changing patients.

What they say about our solutions

Ekaterini Sofoulis

ReCARE Patient - Brasília, Brasil

"I am a wheelchair user. I have had a spinal cord injury since before I turned one year old. I notice immense gains in electrotherapy treatment with ReCARE. I feel muscle gain day by day, more flexibility in my limbs, and reduction in swelling and edema. I am very happy with the results, as I see how there has been a significant improvement in the conditioning and circulation of my legs. I am ecstatic!"
